Are you a writer?

When I was younger, all I wanted was to find someone who could give me feedback on my writing. But none of the resources I found really went into depth on building stories, characters, and worlds that were actually interesting to write - and that people would someday want to read. Some days, writing felt impossible. I didn’t know how to improve and I knew that if I didn’t get better, those dreams of being an author were going to vanish.

That experience inspired me to start something called The Story Guild. I offer a variety of resources to young writers, ranging from basic tips to one-on-one instruction and feedback.

If you’re in the same boat I was, struggling to find anybody who could really help you improve your craft and figure out what to do next, then maybe you’re in the right place.

Feedback

Receive in-depth feedback on projects such as short stories and essays.

  • All feedback will be tailored to the student's specific strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.

  • Short Stories: Feedback will be centred around characters and character growth, overall plot, and prose.

  • Essays: Feedback will be centred around prose and readability. *I will not be fact-checking essays - determining whether information is correct is dependent on the student and the parent*

$2 per page (price can vary - shoot me a message for more details!)

Instruction

Begin learning the basics of storytelling - focusing on key elements, prose, and research.

  • All lessons will be tailored to the student's needs and learning style. At least one round of feedback will be provided on projects as students progress through the lessons.

  • Lessons could be in-person or online - whichever works best for the student and their family!

  • Multiple options available, depending on the student's needs and interests.
